DescriptionThe Welsh Methodist congregation in Carlton was founded in 1890. Salem Chapel, an iron building on Carlton Road, opened on 6 June 1902.

The chapel closed in December 1983 and was demolished the following year; the site is currently (2019/2020) occupied by a house.

The chapel became part of the Leeds Circuit of the Welsh Methodist Church in 1938.
