DescriptionThe first Wesleyan Methodist chapel on Chapel Lane was built in 1843.
It was rebuilt on the same site in 1894.

A wooden Sunday School was built in 1934 which was blown down in 1956.

In 2009 the chapel united with Laithes Crescent Chapel under the name of New Hope Methodist Church.

The chapel closed in 2013 and is currently (2019-2020) converted into a house.


The chapel was in the following circuits at the dates indicated:

Barnsley Methodist Circuit 1971-2013
